Cambridge, Mass. (May 6) – Coming off its 21st straight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship yesterday afternoon, the No. 31 nationally-ranked MIT men's tennis team has learned that they will travel to Middlebury College for the opening rounds of the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
MIT (13-5) earned a first-round bye and will play the winner of the Stevenson/Clarks Summitt match on Saturday at a time to be determined later. Stevenson (16-2) reached the NCAA Tournament via automatic berth after winning its first MAC Commonwealth Championship, while Clarks Summitt won the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) first time in program history.
Also in this regional are host Middlebury College, Goucher College and Baruch College. The winner of this weekend's regional will advance to the National Quarterfinals which is slated to take place on May 21 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
