NEWMAC Releases 2019 Men's Lacrosse Postseason Honors

WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2019 Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Team and major honors on Thursday.

Coast Guard's Riley McNulty was selected as the 2019 Athlete of the Year, after leading the league in goals (57) and points (95). McNulty tallied a goal or an assist in every game he played in this season.

Sharing the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year honors are two of the leagues top goalkeepers in Clark's Nathan Masalek and Coast Guard's Trey Johnson. Masalek produced the top save percentage (60.7) in the league and was second in saves (236), while Johnson had the lowest goals-against average (8.72) in the conference.

MIT's James Santoro garnered the 2019 Rookie of the Year honors, after ranking first in the conference in assists (51) and second in points (82).

Clark's Head Coach Jeff Cohen was named the 2019 Coach of the Year, after leading Clark to a 5-2 recond in league play and an appearance in the NEWMAC tournament semifinals.

The Men's Lacrosse All-Conference team consists of 15 first team and 17 second team honorees that are voted on by the eight head coaches. The 2019 honorees are listed below.

Also being recognized are the eight men's lacrosse student-athletes that were named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. The award is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.
