CHANDLER, Ariz. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has named their Regional Coaching Staff of the Year recipients for NCAA Division III on Thursday afternoon, and the staff of Smith College field hockey has been recognized as the Division III New England East Region Coaching Staff of the Year for 2018.
Smith's staff is led by head coach Jaime Ginsberg, who has amassed a career record of 91-131 over 12 seasons with the Pioneers. She is assisted by graduate assistant coaches Brooke Marshall (2nd year) and Katy Jankura (1st year).
Smith College finished the season 15-8 and captured the program's first New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship. The Pioneers earned their program's third NCAA Championship Tournament bid this year and earned a place in the second round of the tournament for the first time since 1983. Smith's roster features 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-American, Beatrice Chaudoin (Millersville, Md./Severna Park)and two 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III New England East All-Region honorees in Chadoin and Sammie Pavlov (Royersford, Pa./Westtown School).
