NEWMAC Baseball Player of the Week

Mitch McClune, WPI, OF, 2012 (Pembroke, Mass.)

McClune had an outstanding week for the Engineers, collecting 10 hits in 20 at-bats (.500). Six of his 10 hits were of the extra base variety, including homers versus MIT and in both games of a doubleheader with Springfield. His blast on the first pitch of the bottom of the ninth inning in game two versus the Pride forced extra innings. McClune added nine runs batted in and scored five times on the week. The rookie also walked twice, collected a sacrifice fly and did not make in an error in 10 fielding chances in leftfield.
