NEWMAC Men's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week

Tim Roberts, MIT (Sr., F - Oak Bluffs, Mass.) 

In a 2-0 week for the No. 8 Engineers, Roberts averaged a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 75 percent from the field (18-for-24) and 85.7 percent from the free throw line (5-for-6). In addition, Roberts added two assists and two steals per game and picked up 16 defensive rebounds as he now has six straight double-doubles and eight overall for the season.

NEWMAC Men's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week 

Heath Post, Springfield (Jr., F - Cheshire, Conn.)

Post's week was highlighted by an incredible performance on Saturday as he helped the Pride best Westfield State, 73-62. The junior produced 22 points, thanks to a career-best 14-for-15 performance the free throw line, to go along with a remarkable 23 rebounds and seven blocks. The 23 rebounds were the second most of any Division III player this year and the second most in program history, while his seven blocks was the fourth-highest total in the country this season. For the week, Post averaged 15.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game as he also chipped in nine points, four boards, and a pair of steals Amherst in a midweek contest.

 

NEWMAC Women's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week

Lauren Bondi, Smith (Sr., G - Burnaby, B.C.)

In Smith's 108-100 overtime win over Westfield State on December 12, senior guard Lauren Bondi became the 13th player in program history to join the 1,000 point club with her career-high 38 point performance. Bondi made 19-of-22 free throws (86.4%) and added six assists, four steals, and two blocks. Bondi's 38 points are second most in program history and her 19 made free throws are also second most in the Smith basketball record books.

NEWMAC Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week

Kennedy Guest-Pritchett, Smith (Sr., F - Fairburn, Ga.)

In Smith's 108-100 overtime win against Westfield State on December 21, senior forward Kennedy Guest-Pritchett finished with a career-high performance of 33 points and 28 rebounds while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. Guest-Pritchett's 28 rebounds were a single-game record and her 33 points tie for fifth all-time in program history. The Fairburn, Georgia native recorded her fifth double-double of the season.
